The Person In The Mirror
When was the last time you looked in the mirror and said to yourself I love you? For many they have never done this, as hard as it may sound many really haven’t. It may seem so silly, But when you do look in the mirror you usually are there to pick apart yourself and put back the pieces as if you were a jigsaw puzzle. Most of us want to be perfect and in the battle within we continiously lose ourselves to what we deem as imperfections. The real problem is all the beauty products that women as well as men fall victim to. Those products are not put out there to better yourself but to make you feel as if you are looking better so they can continue comensing sales lining their pockets all the while we have been fooled into it all. Maybe you think I am a little stir crazy a little off my rocker so to speak. Take into consideration that I have went to beauty school and know the trick of the trade. Name brand shampoo and conditioner works the same exact way as the generic brands do. One of my instructors informed me. It is all a gimic to make you spend 10-30 bucks on their so called higher end products. Same goes for cosmetics , I am guilty as charged I love make-up. True some do look much better with a tad bit of make up on , but when the day is done and you wipe that war paint off your face. The reflection is looking back at you unhappy under all that glamorous glitz. Make up is best described as cover up of who you truly are. I used to feel that I needed that make up to make me beautiful when the truth is that I didn’t need it at all, under all that make up I was still me and didn’t matter how much you try to cover up the unhappiness people still see it you are not fooling anyone. So I challenged myself to not wear any make up for two weeks and see how it felt to look at myself in the mirror and love me for me. I won the challenge , the best gift you can give yourself is to take the challenge. For the first day or so you will feel like giving up and using those cosmetics , as the days go on it gets easier. Still do your hair and things, believe me this is refreshing for sure.
